Prologue

Prologue

Alexandria was in his room coloring a picture of a fire breathing dragon. His birthday passed so he was finally ten years old. He looked out at the sunny day faintly hearing the bird chirp and kids playing. He sighed but smiled going back to the picture of a dragon. He's parents knocked on his door, but the picture was more of interest to him. Taking a red color pencil he traced the black lines skillfully. Alex always had knack for coloring and drawing. Alex grabbed a green and black color pencil lightly coloring part of the dragon. It eyes and spikes were the only ones that weren't color yet. Humming happily the young boy colored the eyes dark red eyes.

His parents stood outside the door worrying about their son. They knew how he always love coloring and drawing that they encouraged deeply, it just that it worried them about his social behavior. Alex's mom knocked once more loud enough to pop the young boy out of his world. They waited but it seems he didn't hear the knocks on his mahogany color door.

Alex finally came back to reality after hearing his father knocks He looked up only to see a boy with reddish-green hair. Alex gasped by his maple color eyes and his evil grin. He ran towards the door but only to be pulled by the boy with his evil grin at work. The boy eyes gleamed darkly at him. Alex tried to struggle free.

Outside the room his parents heard the commotion in his room. Alex's dad tried to open the door but it jam. He held for his son to open the door as his wife was going downstairs to get a key.

The maple color eyed boy, smirk at Alex as he grabbed Alex's neck squeezing almost the life out of him. Alex eyes were squinted barely seeing lights flash behind the boy who was choking him out. He let a hoarse gasped and a silent shout. The lights he saw behind the stranger started to burst into millions of colorful dust.

The boy smirked at Alex who eyes started to roll into his head. "Feel the rage. He whispered throwing him into the dust and lights.

He looked seeing the boy disappear. He looked at his world change while falling down the seemingly never ending hole he was thrown into. He saw a forest and creatures you see in old stories. Alex closed his eyes knowing he was going to hit the ground. He fell but fell asleep, in a deep sleep.

The boy who threw Alex in the magical hole smirked hearing Alex's parents outside the room. He turned on his heels and listened to them call for Alex and trying to unlock with what sounded like a butter knife. His maple color eyes flashed darkly making an own hole to somewhere. It was dark and the dust exploded into red and orange lights.

Alex's parents opened the door to see their son missing in plain sight and saw the window opened. They feared the worst but hoped he comeback unknowing that he wasn't in the world they know.

2: Awakening
Awakening

Awakening

Alex woke up in a house that smelled of mahogany, maple syrup, and pine trees. He blinked his green eyes a few times at the honey scene before him. He looked down at his feet as he felt a draft cross them and saw that they were bare as the snow in January. His dark brown hair swayed as he was observing the cottage he ended up in. He stood making sure he would not get any splinters in his feet. 'I thought I was going to fall to my doom.' He was grateful but still ponder on he ended up here. He looked at the roaring fire that seemed to be heating up some type of soup. "Hello… is anyone here?" Alex then heard a clatter in the next room. He fixed his navy blue shirt and peeked into the kitchen. The kitchen was made of wood also, 'Wow… they must be very rich.' He thought, 'Maybe they can help me get home.'

A lady looked up from her cutting of a strange plant and saw Alex poking his head into the kitchen. She had wild grey hair, bright blue eyes and pink full lips sending a smile at him. Alex noticed that the elder woman had many wrinkles but what scared him the most was that it formed into a face of his mother or a younger woman. She walked up to him cleaning her soaked hand on her dirtied apron, then fixing her plaid green skirt. Her feet were also bare like his. "Hello my dear boy. I see you are awake now." She made him sit down on the log chair and setting a cold towel on his head. "You bumped your noggin when you fell from the sky as the nymphs told me as they brought you here." Alex groaned feeling the reeling headache kick in but the cold was soothing the pain he felt away.

"Excuse me… what happen to my shoes ma'am?" He looked at his bare feet once again.

She smiled in amusement, "They took your shoes. They are a playful bunch that they are." She hummed happily stirring her soup adding the chopped pieces of the plant. Alex frowned upon hearing that. The old woman went to the kitchen to pick up what she dropped and put back into its rightful place.

Alex took off the towel and waited for her return to ask her a question. "Um… Excuse me Ma'am where am I?" He looked out the window and saw a fairies zooming down the forest. 'I am not home…' He thought as he looked out the window with wonder and amazement.

She gasped realizing he wasn't of her world. "Oh my, you're not of here are you?" He shook his head no. She smiled though, "Well you are in Seri-gone. Also don't be all polite just call me Miss Crabs." She smiled happily stirring the soup softly. He nodded at her but he was now wondering what was in Seri-gone how he still ended up in this world.

"Um… What is Seri-gone?" He got a big grin from her as she handed him a bowl of soup. "Oh thank you…" He took a sip as the hot liquid went down his throat warming his insides. "Miss Crabs the soups is delicious but please tell me what this place is?"

She laughed happily and shot him a smile. "Seri-gone is a place full of magical creatures. All types of fairies, trolls, sirens, elves… so on and so on, creatures that are beyond your wildest imagination, something that are only found your world books." She spins in a circle showing she had two extra legs underneath her dress. He gasped by her legs almost dropping the bowl. She rubbed his shoulders. "Why do you think my name is Miss Crabs?"

Alex's eyes widen when he finally comprehend what she told him. 'My wildest imagination… my imagination is this world. Everything in it is what I day dream of…' He looked out the window and saw Griffins flying in the sky. He grinned after seeing them; he looked back at the old woman. 'She can make herself young or really old.' Miss Crabs saw the excitement in his eyes as he looked back out the window once again. "Miss Crabs can I see what is it like outside?" She nodded pouring in more soup in the bowl.

Alexandria spun in a circle landing in the flowers smelling the grass and trees. He smiled happily at the sight of Gargoyles roaring and gliding through the sky. He saw the Griffins flapping their mighty wings beating the wind in the bright blue sky. 'Wow such a pretty sight.' He frowned though realizing that his parents must be worried about him. He stood up only to hear the rustling in the bushes across from him.

Miss Crabs looked out the window and saw some dwarves and trolls looking through the bushes. She looked away seeing Alex walk in the door frowning. "What's wrong my dear boy?" She rubbed his shoulders trying to shake him out of his sadness.

"I really need to find my way home. Can you please help me?" He almost begged her. The old woman closed her eyes making herself younger than she really is. His green eyes brighten hoping she had the solution to his dilemma.

She grabbed his hand taking him to the kitchen. "I am sorry my dear boy. I have no idea how you got here and how to send you back." She got a cookie and gave it to him. Alexandria looked at nervously. "Go ahead it won't bite you." She joked at him.

When he bit the cookie and swallowed he felt dizzy. The world he fell into was spinning and tilting. He grasped onto the table to help with balancing, he groaned at the rush going on in his brain. He saw Miss Crabs trying to catch something then voices came from outside and loud banging was rattling his ears. His vision was beginning to blur in and out. He saw trolls bust in and Miss Crabs voice, it was strained and almost frighten, "I d-don't…" He lost his balance and passed out. His world was fading as the wind almost went through him. Lights popped into colorful dust.

Alex landed on his bed gently as if something carried him down. He woke up in a darken room. He saw his television, his toys and his picture. He got off the bed sighing sadly unknowing how he got home and if Miss Crabs is okay but then realized it could have been a dream. 'A…dream…it was just a dream.' He thought almost bitterly. 'Just a magical dream that isn't true.' He saw the time was eight fifteen pm. He got off of his bed putting his unfinished picture in his nightstand drawer.

Alexandria put on his pajamas noticing burn like marks on his carpet floor. He looked up remembering the boy with maple color eyes and a reddish-green grabbing his throat. He rubbed his throat feeling the faint touch that was eerily on his neck. Alex walked to the spot where it all started before he passed. He knew the boy was real because he looked in the mirror and saw the purple hand mark. "Who was that…?" He heard his door click open and saw his father behind him. Mr. Jenkins had an anger glare to him.

"Who was that what son?" He asked his son who had a shock face.

Alex mouth went dry; he didn't know how to put things in words. He took a deep breath and sighed stuttering a bit, "I-In…" He thought of something quickly and frowned, "In my dream."

Mr. Jenkins frowned at his son then letting out an annoyed sigh, "Alex… you were gone… gone for a day." He had worriedness in voice. He sat Alex down on the bed looking at him with a look of concern, "Where did you go my boy?"

Alexandria gasped by what he heard, "But… I only have been g… I mean asleep for two hours…" His father sighed sadly shaking his head. "Dad, please believe me I'm telling you the truth."

His dad got up walking out the door, "Get ready for bed it's almost you bed time." Alex nodded flopping on the bed.

Alex looked at the clock to see if his father was really the truth, the date on his digital clock said Sunday, October eleventh. He slipped under his covers confused on the date on the time. 'Was that world really was a dream? Is Miss Crabs okay? I am just going crazy!? Was that… was that boy real?' He closed his eye sighing sadly. He mumbled a few words before drifting off into his sleep. "Was that world real…?"

The next day Alex was in his class daydreaming while trying to zoom on the teacher lesson. He looked at the clock and sighed letting his thoughts go back to what happen yesterday or two days ago. 'What really happen…? I was taken to a world then I passed out!' He closed his eyes until he heard feet and a ton of papers being slammed on his desk making him jumped. "YES!" Everyone in class chuckled or giggled at his embarrassment.

"Mr. Jenkins please, pays attention to the lesson." He asked him.

Alex nodded, "Yes, sir." He shook off the glances of the kids who were staring. He sighed hating how he was being stared at with so many pair of eyes. 'Look at your papers geniuses.'

The bell rang singling that recess is starting. Alex walked slowly to the boys' bathroom not needing to use, but to forget the world he longed for and that boy's face. He needed to forget all that everything about it. He still couldn't help to worry about Miss Crabs, who were those trolls and why did they want her? He entered the bathroom and splashed cold water on his face. 'Forget… forget… FORGET!' He chanted to himself. He looked up and gasped by seeing a small trail of dust. He shook his head in disbelief. 'Just an over active imagination getting the best of you... calm down Alex.'

"Jenkins."

He gasped by hearing his last name being called by a small girl voice. He jumped in shock when feeling a 'swoosh' of wind on his neck making his hair stand on end. He looked around for the thing that called him, "W-Whose there?" A fairy zoomed up to his face looking at him. His mouth dropped at what he is seeing, "A-A fairy…" She giggled playfully at him. She zoomed out of the bathroom, Alex raced after it with no hesitations. She was zooming past kids and adults who watched the kids. "WAIT!" He shouted at her.

Alex saw the fairy fly through the crack in the brick wall. He huffed and puffed seeing the fairy leaving a thin trail of dust in her wake. He peeked through the crack and spoke, "Little Fairy… please come on out, please." After about a minuet of trying to coax the fairy back he sighed sadly. He looked through the crack again and smelled the maple, mahogany, and pine trees. Alex jumped feeling a hand on his shoulder. He looked behind him and saw a dark-brown haired girl with razor sharp hazel-brown eyes. "Geez scare my half to death!" He sighed seeing he hurt her a bit. "Sorry."

"Alexandria, do you want to play with me and my friends in a game of four squares?" She smiled hoping he would say yes. He shook his head walking off sighing sadly how he couldn't the fairy back out the crack in the wall. "Oh, poor Alex... why won't he open up to me?" One of her friends walked to her bringing her back to the game.

After school Alex was walking home, 'So… Seri-gone is really real.' He smiled softly. He heard someone walking up to him. He walked a bit faster hoping to avoid whoever was following him. He stopped hearing the footsteps stop.

"You okay Alex?"

He sighed seeing it was Mia. "Yeah, please leave me alone Mia." He looked at her hazel-brown eyes as her dark-brown hair swayed in the wind.

She looked down but smiled, "Hey, if you ever want to hang this weekend we can go to the park or something or play hopscotch." He shook his head no. "How about we go to my house then and play some games." She smiled hopefully.

"No, I don't want to… I'm too busy." He lied through his teeth. "Besides you really don't want to hang out with me anyway." He looked at her, "Besides all your friends make fun of me anyway."

Mia walked up to him sighing, "Alex, please I want to be friends just give me a chance at it." She gave him a hopeful smile of friendship. He gave her a frown as if turning her offer down. "Please."

"Sorry, I just don't want to be friends. I know I'm not wanted in this world." He turned his back on her and walked off.

Mia looked down whispering quietly, "I want you in this world." She walked back home just wondering what he was thinking about.

Alexandria's dad was rubbing his temples as he was dialing the phone. He heard the door being open and closed shut. He looked to see it was his son. Hugging him tightly, he sighed in relief. "Thank the lord you're okay."

Alex looked at the one less empty person room, "Dad… where's mom?" Asking looking around the room for his mother, his father looked away. "Dad where is mom?"

"Go to your room for now." He walked back into the kitchen calling more of his wife friends. Alex sighed going to his room.

Alex set his school stuff down and just looked at the unfinished colored dragon picture. He grabbed his color pencils and the picture settling down on his bed. He hummed quietly wondering where his mom is. He remembered what that strange boy said, 'Feel the rage… what does that even mean? Ugh, even a boy from a strange world doesn't make sense.' He heard a faint roar then it became louder which passing second. He looked up to see a dragon with bright fiery eyes almost like brimstone. It had black shiny scales, it teeth was covered with light shades of blood on them but they were shiny still. He mumbled softly, "Rage…" It roared at him as if fire came out of its mouth it was hot on his face. Alex closed his eyes only to open see his eyes to see his room but with no dragon. He sighed laying down once again forgetting about the said picture.

Mr. Jenkins heard the doorbell ring about five times before he can even get to it. "Hold on." With phone in hand and a phone book he looked at an angry mother. "Oh… Mrs. Lester-Field um… is there a problem. It's late-"

Mrs. Lester-Field growled with tears streaming down her tan complexion, "Where's your wife?!"

"Please calm down. I don't know… she just out in garden couple of hours ago. Then when I tried to call her in for something she just disappeared into thin air. So sorry you have to wait until she comes back." He spoke as calmly as he could.

"WELL…" Her voice was filled with hatred and acid, "I think she was driven off by your son with the girlish name. I am pretty sure he did the same thing with my sweet daughter."

Before he even replied with a ruder, meaner, cruder remark he was in shock by the fact that her daughter went missing. "Wait, Mia is missing?"

"YES!" Her voice was now shrill which could have blown out his ear drums. "She came home went to her room… she looked awfully sad and mumbling about your cruel son…" Sighing she was again on the verge of tears. "Please call me if you find her." She walked off the porch off to her brown color lemon.

Closing the door, Mr. Jenkins sat down in his recliner. He heard soft breathing, "Alex…?"

"Yes father?"

"How much did you hear?" Eyes glassy looking; he set all his attention on Alexandria.

Shyly he looked down, "Almost all of it." Feeling a tight embrace from his father Alexandria held back a sniffle and tears.

Squeezing his son shoulder, he breathed in a sigh, "Go to bed. Sweet dreams." With that Mr. Jenkins went to the kitchen continuing the search for his beloved wife.

Alex looked at his bed as tears poured down his now redden cheeks of his fare complexion. So many emotions he felt and so many he wanted to take it out on himself. Before he thought of anything bad of himself, he heard a voice. It wasn't his father's voice no it was rough sounding but almost like velvet it was smooth no stutters, no lisps. He looked around the room but no one, "Do you feel the rage? Do you have someone you love and want back?" The voice said.

"Whose there?" Choking back his fear, Alex stood his ground at the foot of his bed. 'I know better than to believe there is a monster in my closet and under my bed,

The voice was now becoming faint as it repeated what it said before, "Feel the rage and love." With that the voice vanished as if was like a ghost haunting him.
